Convalescence according to the PRESERVÉ™ method day by day.
01 Why can recovery after mini-invasive augmentation be more comfortable?
Postoperative discomfort does not arise because an implant is placed in the breast.
The implant itself does not cause pain.
Pain arises as a natural reaction of the body to surgery. It is mainly related to the extent of intervention in soft tissues, postoperative swelling and the body's inflammatory response, which is an essential part of healing.
The MinVasive™ principle is based on a simple idea – to achieve the desired surgical result with as little intervention as possible in the natural anatomy. PRESERVÉ™ mini-invasive augmentation uses special surgical procedures and tools designed to respect the natural anatomical structures as much as possible when creating space for the implant. The aim is to minimize unnecessary damage to soft tissues, ligaments, blood vessels and nerves.
In professional literature, this approach is referred to as tissue preservation - preservation of natural tissues.
The result can be less postoperative swelling, less discomfort and a faster return to normal activities. However, each organism heals individually, therefore the course of recovery may differ for individual patients.
02 It's not always pain. It is often a completely new sensation.
It is interesting that many patients after mini-invasive augmentation do not describe the first days with the word pain.
More often they talk about:
- feeling of pressure,
- tension,
- breast fullness,
- increased sensitivity during certain movements. It's natural.
After the operation, the organism adapts to the new situation and the tissues gradually create a new natural balance around the implant.
Equally important is how the woman feels throughout the entire journey to the result. It is on this philosophy that we build the MinVasive™ concept at SOUMEÉ - less surgical intervention, more respect for natural anatomy and an emphasis on comfortable recovery.
03 Convalescence day by day
Each woman heals individually. The following timeline describes the most common course of recovery after mini-invasive augmentation using the PRESERVÉ™ method.
Day of surgery
After the anesthesia wears off, most patients do not describe sharp pain.
Rather, they feel:
- tension in the chest,
- breast fullness,
- moderate pressure.
Some women compare this feeling to intense exercise of the breast muscles.
In most cases, patients are able to perform normal daily activities independently on the day of surgery, such as walking around the apartment, personal hygiene or simple household tasks.
First night
Many patients say that finding a comfortable sleeping position is a bigger challenge than the discomfort itself. It is recommended to sleep on your back with the upper half of your body slightly elevated.
Day 1
Most often, patients describe:
- pressure,
- tension,
- feeling of strength,
- sensitivity when getting up.
Many women are surprised that they manage to function more naturally than they expected.
Day 2
It is during this period that the swelling is most pronounced.
Breasts can act:
- stored above,
- stronger,
- more tense.
This is not a complication, but a natural part of the healing process.
Day 3
Many patients say that today they realize that they expected a more difficult course.
They are still more careful with sudden movements, but most of them are able to handle normal daily activities without major restrictions.
5th day
The tension begins to subside gradually.
Some women describe:
- gentle pricking,
- itching,
- short electrification.
These feelings are often related to the natural regeneration of nerve endings.
7th day
Most patients feel significantly more comfortable.
However, the breasts are still swollen and their final shape is not yet visible.
Second week
Significant pain is usually no longer present.
Female patients are more likely to perceive:
- residual sensitivity,
- swelling,
- gradual release of tissues.
Third to fourth week
Breasts are starting to get softer.
Swelling gradually subsides and movement becomes more and more natural.
Many women say that right now they stop thinking about having surgery during the day.
Sixth week
For most patients, six weeks is a significant milestone.
The tissues are already significantly healed and most women feel completely natural in normal daily activities.
However, the healing process continues.
Three months
Breasts look more natural to the eye and to the touch.
The organism adapts further and the implant becomes a natural part of the body.
Six to twelve months
Although the patient feels healed a long time ago, a gentle reconstruction of the tissues is still taking place inside the body.
That is why the final result of augmentation is evaluated only after several months.
04 What surprises patients most often after mini-invasive augmentation?
Every woman experiences the first days after surgery a little differently.
Nevertheless, we repeatedly encounter similar reactions during inspections.
Patients often say that they were surprised that they did not feel the pronounced pain that they heard about, for example, from friends who underwent classic augmentation.
Instead of significant pain, they describe rather:
- feeling of pressure or tension in the chest,
- firmer breasts during the first days,
- gradual release of tissues,
- return to normal daily routine earlier than originally expected.
That is why during check-ups we are increasingly not talking about whether it hurts, but about how sensations change during healing.
05 The first days through the eyes of our patients
Each woman experiences recovery at her own pace. Nevertheless, similar feelings and experiences are often repeated during inspections.
The following excerpts are based on real anonymized statements of our patients who underwent mini-invasive breast augmentation with the PRESERVÉ™ method. We publish them with their permission to help women who are still considering surgery to create a realistic picture of the early days of recovery.
Day 1
"The most pronounced was the feeling of pressure on the chest. It was not a sharp pain, rather a feeling of firmness. In the evening I walked around the apartment without any problems and made tea."
Day 3
"I still felt the tension when I got up, but every day it got a little better. I was surprised how quickly I felt more confident in normal activities."
7th day
"During the day, I no longer thought about the surgery with every move. I was careful, but I functioned naturally."
14th day
"The breasts were even firmer than they would be later, but I hardly noticed them during the normal day."
06 Return to activities after mini-invasive augmentation
| Activity | When is it possible to return |
|---|---|
| Walking | on the day of the procedure according to tolerance |
| Common household activities | 1st day |
| Office work | 2.–5. day according to individual comfort |
| Driving | from day 2, as long as you are no longer on strong painkillers and can safely control the vehicle, including emergency braking |
| Sexual activity | from the 7th day, with a postoperative bra on, without pressure on the breasts and with regard to own comfort |
| Fast walking (sports) | from the 7th |
| Stationary bicycle | from the 7th |
| Leg training | from the 7th day, without involving the upper part of the body and without a significant load on the chest |
| Exercise of abdominal muscles | from the 14th |
| Running | from the 4th week, with a high-quality sports bra |
| Swimming | from the 6th week, after complete healing of the wounds |
| Upper body exercise | from the 6th week |
| Strength training without restrictions | from the 6th week, gradually according to the operator's recommendation |
07 Conclusion
Pain after breast surgery is a natural part of healing. However, its intensity depends not only on the individual pain threshold, but also on the way the operation is performed.
Modern mini-invasive approaches aim to make the surgical procedure as gentle as possible to the natural anatomy and to make the recovery as comfortable as possible for the patient. Therefore, today we do not judge the success of augmentation only by the resulting appearance of the breasts. Equally important is how the woman feels throughout the entire journey to the result.
It is on this philosophy that we build the MinVasive™ concept at SOUMEÉ - less surgical intervention, more respect for natural anatomy and an emphasis on comfortable recovery.
